In 2013 I worked on the side as a Pro Wrestling Ringside Photographer for so many independent wrestling divisions in the tri-state area including working an ECW Wrestling Reunion Documentary filmed at the world famous 2300 building in Philly.

The fun part about working these shows for me was never about the money;

....... as for me, it was about getting up close to the squared circle, having the best seat in the house, on all four sides of the ring, at will, in the name of pro wrestling photography.

In the process of working as a ringside photographer;

I made around 3 good aquantances with 3 WWE Hall of Fame Wrestlers as a result from working ringside.

But one in particular stands out among the rest.

In 2013 At one particular independent wrestling show I was working at;

....... the special guest star was none other than The Russian Superstar Nikolai Volkoff aka "Josip Hrvoje Peruzović"

....... the wrestler I spoke of earlier as the "man I once knew" in the Professional Sports Entertainment Industry business.

Before the show I walked up to him at his merch table and expressed my respectful greetings.

Fondly remembering him as a child watching him wrestle for the NWA in Tampa Florida on TV and also watching him wrestle live at the Miami Beach Convention Center in the early 80s.

Like I noted earlier, back then pro wrestling took my mind off of the more troubling things I was experiencing in my youth back then in the early 1980s.

The zany wrestling characters seemed so Alien to me and I enjoyed the lunacy of their contolled world of chaos.

After extending my greetings to Nikolai Volkoff, I suddenly realized that our conversation had somehow swayed into the "Metaphysical" and we spoke of quite a few esoteric things, for quite a while, Im not really sure why we "clicked" so much, but we did;

.......he noticed it as well and it felt refreshing, as he once told me at one of the many shows we worked together;

....... He stated:

"our conversations are like a breath of fresh air".

After this particular show had ended, I walked back up to him as he was packing up his merch booth to leave to go back to Maryland where he lived.

We spoke some more and before my leaving of the building, he asked me a serious question in that thick Russian-like accent;

"Do you know what the most important thing in the world is?"

My reply was left open, as I wanted to receive/hear his interpretation of the question he had asked of me.

He then proceeded to say to me,

"God, god is The Most Important Thing"

I thought that was a very thoughtful thing to say, especially coming from an Iron Giant in The Professional Wrestling Business such as he was.

As time went on I would often see Nikolai quite a bit as he also was working the same shows as I was in the Tri-State Area.

"Are" thing was to always get a picture together at the shows we both worked, and Sharlene was always included as Nikolai enjoyed her company too.

Nikolai Volkoff would always ask me at every other show:

"when you gonna marry Sharlene?"

As he liked to get a picture with her too.

I asked Nikolai Volkoff one time at a show:

"If I ever do marry sharlene one day, would you be my Best Man at the Wedding?"

In which JOSEPH PETROVICH aka Pro Wrestler "Nikolai Volkoff" stated:

"Yes", he indeed would be my Best Man at a wedding, If indeed one day I should decide to marry Sharlene.

One time, I was working at a Big Time Wrestling show and caught up with Nikolai at his merch booth before the show.

Me, Sharlene and Nikolai, we were all "shooting the shite"

talking about life;

....... and then we all started to take freindship pictures together, to remember the show, etc;

Nikolai the "Jokester"

....... anyhow, a male spectator was watching us take our pictures, upon which he [spectator] then wants to walk into our pictures with only him and Nikolai;

....... then he proceeds to ask Nikolai Volkoff if he could get in with a picture of himself with Nikolai;

....... in which Nikolai, being a jokester stated:

"yes you can"

The man happily walked up to nikolai for his selfie;

....... and then Nikolai stated:

The man snickered off.

Nikolai Volkoff and I were connected through a mutual friend in the Professional Wrestling Business who at that time [per Nikolai Volkoff], was a 32nd Degree Mason.

....... that Vince Mcmahon and his daughter Stephanie wouldnt be attending the WWE event [wwe payback june 1st, 2014] on that particular night;

When I [PVS] worked as a Pro Wrestling Ringside Photographer, I was out working shows up to 4 times a month;

Jake the Snake brought out a Huge Boa Constrictor Snake from his sack and dropped in onto the loser of the match;

....... as I was in full gear shooting pics around the squared circle snapping away getting good ringside pics of Jake and The Snake.

I proceed to walk up to Jake the Snake as he was now standing on the outside of the ring apron trying to place this huge Boa Constrictor back into its carrying sack.

All the while Im shooting pics of Jake and the Snake, the fans are going crazy with excitement and all this commotion seems to startle the huge boa constrictor snake.

Then, amongst the controlled chaos, I noticed that Jake was standing there looking at me posing with the jinxy snake, so I started snapping away photography of him with the snake.

The crowd is cheering, the music is blasting and Im in my zone shooting pics.

Then I notice through the cameras lens viewfinder that the snake was getting even more jinxy and antsy with all the surrounding noise and fan commotion going on in and around the ring;

....... again, pro wrestling is Organized Chaos;

....... and Jake the Snake is still there standing there looking at me, now appearing noticeably upset, with this snake which is by now starting to freak out.

Im still shooting picture at this point so Im all Eyes with my ears tuned off to better focus on my photography.

I then notice that the whole time Jake was standing there looking at me, posing with the jinxy snake;

....... he was actually fighting with the scared snake to get it back into its carrying sack and the whole time I thought he was posing for pics;

....... he was actually cursing and yelling at me to quickly "get the fucking bag" [ to place the scared snake back into.

I helped him with the Snake, putting it back into the carrying sack.

By then the Snake had Skeeted stinky reptilian musk and shite all over the place in which I was covered with snake musk / shite all over on my hands and camera;

....... similar to the time I was at a Big Time Wrestling Show and The WWE "attitude era" Vampire Gangrel, who spews blood into the air from a vampirical gobblet whilst standing on the corner righ ropes;

....... and while I was standing under him next to the ring post getting great shots of his bloodlust act;
